We provide simple, no-nonsense WordPress website maintenance and support service, with all tasks carried out in-house by our team of talented web developers.

Website Software Updates

Like all software, WordPress and its plugins need regular updates and patching. While these updates are simple to run via the dashboard, they need to be done regularly, and its important to know how to recover in the unlikely event that something goes wrong during an update.

Here at Vitamin, the same developers that build our websites run our updates. As top-level WordPress coders, they implement WP core, plugin and theme updates weekly while logging them for quality assurance and audit. Having run updates, they fully test websites, including error logs, to ensure everything runs as it should.

Uptime Monitoring

Our clients enjoy great peace of mind knowing that if something does go wrong, the first people to know about it are us! We use an automated service to continually scan websites and to notify us if any irregular downtime is detected. During office hours, we respond immediately when notified.

Security Scanning

Sadly, the risk of website compromise by malware is ever present. Having a website defaced, or even worse, a data breach involving personal data, could be catastrophic to a reputation. We provide a regular, automated scanning service to ensure that any unexpected changes are immediately flagged and investigated.

Secure, Offsite Backup

We use Amazon S3 to securely backup website files and databases (content). This service includes military-grade security and, of course, is hosted in the EU to ensure no GDPR issues. We can recover websites from full wipeout within minutes in most cases.

Priority Support and Training

While our websites are really easy to use, many of our clients like to have us on hand to provide support and training as part of the service. We tailor the offering to suit each organisation, but typically, one or two hours per month is sufficient for most clients. If feel you may need more, please let us know.

Support FAQ

1 hour per month equates to 3-4 small tasks. A small task would be, for example, changing a menu item, uploading a new document or updating page content with content you supply. Or you could choose to use the whole hour to have us onboard and train up a new staff member so they can do these things themselves. If you don’t have an internal team member to help you manage the website and its content, we can increase the time allocation as needed, even on a temporary basis.
We pride ourselves on being an approachable, customer-first company, so we never grumble about the occasional minor increases here and there. However, if you need more support resources temporarily, we just need a little notice so we can allocate a developer. While we do of course need to charge for this time, clients with an SLA get to be at the front of the queue. and get a preferential rate.
Unfortunately, no. The scope of new development work is too broad, so without details, we can’t commit to it within the support SLA. However, we do prioritise our supported clients when they come to us with new requirements. Our support SLA covers existing functionality only.
Due to the large volume of clients we support, we don’t burden our hard-working dev team with per-minute time tracking. Therefore, support time doesn’t roll over automatically. However, we’re reasonable folks and will always help our clients out if they’re in a bind.
The support we can provide under our SLAs is limited to the stuff we’ve built for you. Of course, if we’ve built an integration with your website, we can support you with that, but the external platform itself would need to be supported by the folks that built it. However, we’re obliging folks and are happy to take a look and offer a view if you’re in a pickle.
